Here’s a quick look at what we built in the past month, what’s moving forward on the roadmap, and where the team has been active across the ecosystem.

1. Product Update: ID Austria and mObywatel
In August, the product team continued work on ID Austria and mObywatel, two national eID methods that are now in the final stretch before becoming available through the eID Easy API.
ID Austria will help customers authenticate Austrian users for online onboarding, account access, and regulated user flows.
mObywatel will expand our Polish eID coverage, supporting businesses that need to authenticate Polish residents or citizens in digital journeys.
Both methods are part of our continued work to expand trusted eID coverage across Europe through one API.
2. Coming Up Next: What Product Team Is Working On
The product team is still focused on three national eID methods and one wallet sandbox: SPID in Italy, ID Austria, mObywatel in Poland, and the Swiss Swiyu wallet sandbox.
It’s a good reminder of why aggregation matters. Adding national eID schemes is not always a simple technical switch. There are registrations, approvals, government processes, local rules, and plenty of moving parts that do not always depend on us.
That is exactly the kind of complexity we work through, so customers do not have to go direct to every scheme country by country.
Near-term priorities:
SPID, Italy
We’re being onboarded as an official SPID aggregator, which will allow us to offer SPID as an authentication method through the eID Easy API. This is a major step for customers who need to verify Italian users online, especially for onboarding, account access, and regulated user flows.
ID Austria
We’re also being onboarded as an official ID Austria Service Provider, giving customers a technical integration layer to access ID Austria authentication through our API. For businesses serving Austrian users, this adds another trusted national eID method through the same eID Easy integration.
mObywatel, Poland
mObywatel is also on the near-term roadmap, helping us expand eID coverage in Poland. Once available, it will support businesses that need to authenticate Polish users as part of online services, onboarding, or other digital journeys.
Swiss Wallet, Swiyu
On the wallet side, we’re preparing access to the Swiss Swiyu wallet sandbox. This will allow customers to test wallet-based journeys, including identity credential verification and trusted attribute sharing, before production access becomes available.
Together, these updates support the same goal: broader trusted identity coverage through one API, with early access to the wallet-based flows that are coming next.
2026 Roadmap Highlights

3. Customer Story of the Month
This month, we’re highlighting On Road (Certiflow), an independent digital platform helping small and medium-sized vehicle manufacturers generate, digitally sign, and archive compliant electronic Certificates of Conformity (eCoC).
From 29 November 2026, every new vehicle with European type approval must be accompanied by a fully digital, qualified signed eCoC. For smaller manufacturers, this can quickly become a technical and regulatory burden.
On Road has chosen eID Easy to power qualified XAdES eSeals and electronic signatures, helping manufacturers prepare for the upcoming eCoC requirements without needing in-house cryptographic expertise.
Together, we’re supporting a simpler “Build → Click → Drive” workflow, where manufacturers can generate, sign, and archive compliant eCoCs with more confidence.

4. Provider Story of the Month
Swisscom Trust Services, a trusted provider for compliant QES and AdES workflows
This month, we’re highlighting Swisscom, one of our trusted partners for legally valid electronic signatures across Europe and Switzerland.
Swisscom Trust Services provides Qualified Electronic Signatures (QES) and Advanced Electronic Signatures (AdES), supporting both EU eIDAS and Swiss ZertES signing use cases.
Through eID Easy, customers can access Swisscom signing without building a direct trust service integration themselves. Signers use the Mobile ID app as the approval method for creating qualified signatures. If they do not already have Mobile ID set up, they can complete remote identity verification to obtain the Swisscom signing certificate.
Swisscom Trust Services is listed as an accredited trust service provider both in the EU as well as in Switzerland, supporting compliant signing for regulated and cross-border workflows in both jurisdictions.
This makes it a particularly strong option for organisations conducting business within Switzerland or with Swiss counterparties, where the signatures need to be valid under Swiss law, from sales contracts to regulated workflows, public procurement and HR documents.
For customers managing signing at scale, eID Easy can also support voucher-based identity verification, so the business can cover the verification cost for signers and keep the user journey smoother.
In short: Swisscom brings multi-jurisdiction trust-service infrastructure, and eID Easy makes it easier to access through one integration.
5. Around the Company: Events, Updates & More
September is bringing us back into community mode, with the team heading to Geneva, Brussels, Tallinn, and Zürich for digital identity and trust events.
Global Digital Collaboration Conference, Geneva
Maoiliosa will be in Geneva for the Global Digital Collaboration Conference, a gathering focused on digital trust infrastructure, interoperability, wallets, verifiable credentials, standards, and cross-border collaboration.
A good place to start September, with many of the conversations we care about most: trust, identity, wallets, and how all of this works across borders.
Digital Identity Community Drinks, Brussels
We’re bringing our Digital Identity Community Drinks Meetup series to Brussels for the first time, and this one is co-hosted with our good friends at itsme®.
Maoiliosa, João, and John will be there from the eID Easy side, together with the itsme® team.
The format stays the same: a relaxed evening for people working in, or curious about, digital identity, EUDI Wallets, KYC & AML, AI-fraud, eSignatures, trust services, fintech, compliance, onboarding, and cross-border identity.
We’ll talk about what’s happening in the market, what still needs figuring out, and how all of this affects digital interactions in practice.
CSC 10th Anniversary Dinner, Tallinn
We’re also co-hosting a Cloud Signature Consortium 10th Anniversary Dinner in Tallinn, taking place during the same week as the ENISA Trust Services and eID Forum – CA Day 2026.
The dinner will bring together CSC members, partners, and friends from across the digital trust community to mark 10 years of collaboration around cloud signatures and digital trust.
Our Tallinn team will be there, with Maoiliosa and John also travelling in for the week.
Proof Up 2026, Zürich
John will also be at Proof Up 2026, hosted by Swisscom Trust Services in Zürich on September 24.
The event focuses on the next phase of digital trust: verified identities, trusted attributes, organizational identity, electronic seals, digital product passports, AI-era onboarding, and regulatory-ready trust processes.
It will bring together selected partners and experts to explore how identity, intent, integrity, origin, attributes, and compliance can become reusable proof across organizations, platforms, and customer journeys.
6. Under the Hood: Ten years of eID Easy
“If eID Easy’s first ten years were a movie, what would it be?”
João Rei:
“Die Hard.”
That probably tells you something about the journey. What started as a 2016 hackathon project spent a few quiet years mostly paying its own server bills. Today, eID Easy powers 9 of the world’s top 10 eSignature platforms.
For our tenth anniversary, we sat down with co-founder João Rei to talk about the original idea, what nearly did not work, the decisions that kept the company going, and why he still believes we are early.
The world was not ready in 2016. It is getting closer.

Live session recording: Inside Real EUDIW Wallet Flows
In our second Explained by eID Easy live session, we went one layer deeper into EUDI Wallets and we opened the eID Easy EUDIW Playground and showed what real wallet sandbox flows look like for relying parties.
The session covered live demos of the German wallet sandbox, French wallet sandbox, and Namirial private wallet, including how OAuth redirect and QR code flows work, what the user sees, what claims come back, and how each wallet environment behaves a little differently.
We also looked at what can already be tested today, including PID, age verification, and mobile driver’s licence where available.
For product teams, developers, KYC/AML teams, compliance teams, and anyone deciding between direct wallet integration and using a hub, this is a practical look at what EUDIW integration actually looks like behind the slides.
