L’Identité Numérique from Docaposte is an identity application with more than 8.5 million users , making it one of the most widely adopted ID services  in France. It's available to anyone with a valid French national identity document and a smartphone, and can be used for secure authentication for public services and private-sector platforms, allowing individuals to prove their identity remotely for e-government access, banking, and e-commerce.

Compliance‍

While La Poste’s service itself is not separately notified, it functions as a primary identity provider within the FranceConnect+ eID scheme, which is officially notified under the EU eIDAS Regulation (EU) No 910/2014. Through this association, users benefit from cross-border recognition across EU member states and meet substantial-level assurance requirements for strong customer authentication and regulatory compliance.
