L’Identité Numérique FranceConnect+, operated by La Poste, is France’s high-assurance digital identity framework and enables secure authentication for public services and private-sector platforms, allowing individuals to prove their identity remotely for e-government access, banking, and e-commerce. According to the official EU eIDAS listing, the FranceConnect+ scheme has been notified at a substantial level of assurance since 2 February 2021.
Compliance
While La Poste’s service itself is not separately notified, it functions as a primary identity provider within the FranceConnect+ eID scheme, which is officially notified under the EU eIDAS Regulation (EU) No 910/2014. Through this association, users benefit from cross-border recognition across EU member states and meet substantial-level assurance requirements for strong customer authentication and regulatory compliance.
