eID Easy Company Update October 2026

Here’s a quick look at what we built in the past month, what’s moving forward on the roadmap, and where the team has been active across the ecosystem.

Product progress, partnerships, and the people behind it: all in one place.

1. Product Update: October 2026

This month, we expanded our XML signing capabilities for automotive workflows and added an eID login option for businesses serving Icelandic users.

XMLDSIG support for eCoC

We’ve added XMLDSIG support to Direct eSealing for electronic Certificates of Conformity (eCoC).

For vehicle manufacturers and the platforms supporting them, the signature format matters. Even a signed XML document can be rejected if it does not meet the receiving system’s requirements. This update addresses the format requirements of eCoC vehicle-registration validators, helping teams submit their signed XML documents in the expected format.

Auðkenni login, Iceland

We’ve supported Auðkenni eSignatures for a long time. This month, we added eID login too, expanding our coverage in Iceland.

Businesses serving Icelandic users can now offer both authentication and document signing through the same eID Easy API, using Auðkenni for more of the customer journey, from account access to signing an agreement.

2. Coming Up Next: What the Product Team Is Working On

We’re continuing work on more national eID methods and wallet testing options. Alongside the technical integrations, we’re working through the registrations and approvals needed to make them available.

Near-Term Priorities

SPID, Italy
We’re continuing the onboarding process to become an official SPID aggregator, preparing to offer Italian eID authentication through the eID Easy API for onboarding, account access, and other online services.

ID Austria
Work continues on making ID Austria authentication available through our API, giving businesses another trusted national identity option for serving Austrian users.

mObywatel, Poland
We’re progressing the setup for mObywatel, expanding our Polish eID coverage for businesses that need to authenticate users within their online services.

Swiss Wallet, swiyu
We’re preparing access to the swiyu wallet sandbox, so customers can test identity verification and attribute-sharing flows before planning their production integration.

National Italian Wallet
We’re also preparing support for the National Italian Wallet, giving customers another environment to explore wallet-based identity journeys and understand how they could fit into their services.

Customer registration and access requirements vary by scheme. We help customers navigate those requirements while handling the technical integration.

2026 Roadmap Highlights

  • Digital Identity Wallet integrations, with practical business workflows and APIs.
  • Expanded eID coverage, including Poland, Italy, Spain, Germany, and other markets.
  • Uptime and performance improvements, particularly for high-demand methods.
  • Enhanced analytics and reporting, giving customers clearer visibility into their operations.

3. Customer Highlight: Verified

Expanding European signing coverage without separate local integrations

This month, we’re highlighting Verified, a Stockholm-based provider of eID and eAuthentication solutions serving over 2,000 customers across the Nordics.

With many of its customers operating across the EU, Verified needed to support different local signing methods and growing demand for Qualified Electronic Signatures (QES), without letting integration costs and complexity grow alongside them.

By integrating eID Easy’s QES API, Verified can offer multiple European signing methods through a single connection. That means broader coverage for its customers, fewer local integrations to manage, and faster delivery.

“Everything needed is combined in one API, eliminating the need for multiple local integrations. This leads to lower costs and faster delivery.”

4. Provider Story of the Month

This month, we’re highlighting MSC Trustgate, a licensed Certification Authority (CA) approved by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to provide digital signature services in Malaysia under the Digital Signature Act 1997.

Through the MyTrustID app, users from more than 182 countries can complete remote onboarding and obtain a digital signing certificate without visiting a physical location, subject to applicable identity verification requirements.

With MSC Trustgate available through eID Easy, businesses can integrate its digital signature services into their existing workflows, supporting document signing under Malaysia’s digital signature framework.

Flexible Identity Verification and Authentication

MSC Trustgate supports several identity-verification and authentication options:

  • MyDigital ID: Supports identity journeys using Malaysia’s national digital identity framework.
  • vLEI—Verifiable Legal Entity Identifier: Supports verifiable organisational identity and corporate-role credentials, helping establish which organisation a person represents and their authority to act on its behalf.
  • MyTrustID: Provides MSC Trustgate’s electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) and authentication capabilities for digital onboarding and two-factor authentication (2FA).

These options support different identity needs, from verifying individuals to establishing organisational representation and authority.

Simpler Integration Through the CSC API

A key highlight is support for the Cloud Signature Consortium (CSC) API, an open standard that connects signing applications with cloud-based digital signature services. This enables businesses to connect compatible signing platforms to MSC Trustgate’s trusted signing infrastructure, simplifying integration into existing document workflows.

eID Easy customers can now purchase MSC Trustgate signature transactions directly from eID Easy, without needing a separate contract with MSC Trustgate.

That means one less supplier agreement to manage and a simpler way to offer trusted digital signing services for the Malaysian market.

A Shared Commitment to Digital Trust

“At MSC Trustgate, we believe high-assurance digital trust should be simple to integrate and globally recognised. Partnering with eID Easy allows us to bring our AATL-backed MyTrust Secure Signing (remote signing) and flexible identity-verification capabilities—from national digital identities such as MyDigital ID to corporate vLEI credentials—to a broader international ecosystem. Together, we are making secure cross-border signing easier for businesses and end users.”

— Hazhar Ismail, Chief Operating Officer, MSC Trustgate

5. Around the Company: Events, Updates & More

October was a little quieter than September on the events front, but still full of good conversations where the discussions carried on well after the events ended.

Trusted Economy Forum 2026, Poznań

Piotr Andruszkiewicz, our Head of Sales eID & EUDI, took to the stage at Trusted Economy Forum 2026 in Poznań for a debate on what customers really need from digital identity, trust services, and digital transformation.

He joined Andrzej Zduńczyk (BIK), Krzysztof Król (UODO), and Marek Pieróg (Siepomaga.pl), with Remigiusz Lewandowski moderating.

Piotr’s takeaway: AMLR and EUDI Wallets offer an opportunity to improve customer onboarding and KYC through trusted, reusable identity data. But preparing for regulation is only part of the picture:

“Regulatory readiness alone won’t drive business value. The real impact will depend on national wallet adoption rates and the ability of financial institutions to combine EUDI Wallets with existing eIDs.”

— Piotr Andruszkiewicz, Head of Sales eID & EUDI, eID Easy

Digital Identity Community Meetup #16, Barcelona

Our 16th community meetup brought us to Barcelona for the first time, and what a welcome. A great turnout, good Spanish food, and plenty of conversations about digital identity, wallets, and signing.

The event finished, but the conversations didn’t. People continued catching up around the city afterwards, which is always a good sign.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made our first Barcelona meetup feel right at home.

Coming in November

Three dates for your calendar: an online live session, our Annual Conference in Tallinn and another evening with the community in Dublin.

💻 Live Session #4: EUDI vs Commercial Wallets

Your customer shares an ID from their wallet. Is it enough for onboarding, KYC or an age check?

On 5 November at 11:00 CET, John Jolliffe hosts Andrea Feliziani and Andrii Hrynchuk to compare EUDI Wallets, Google Wallet and Apple Wallet: what their identity credentials prove, who issues them, and how your business gets access.

30-minute discussion + 15-minute live Q&A. Bring your questions!

6. Under the Hood: Team Spotlight

This month, we’re getting to know Tobi, our Lead Developer and one of the early people to join outside the founding team.

His first encounter with eID Easy happened years before he joined. A presentation on an Estonian island, an interview at another company, and a few familiar faces eventually brought him here. We asked him about those early connections, the work he’s proud of, and life in Estonia.

What does a working day look like for you?

Before the code and customer requests, there’s the school run. After that, Tobi works through the day’s priorities, although the order can change.

“First, I take the kids to school. Then I review the previous day’s work, share a progress update, and get started.

My early mornings are usually for catching up on customer requests, reviewing pending pull requests, and deciding what needs to be done that day.

Some days, support requests come first, whether that means preparing a response or getting the right people involved to resolve an issue.”

How did you find your way to eID Easy?

Tobi first saw an early version of eID Easy on Vormsi Island, where João Rei was presenting it. Tobi was there as a developer with another team. It turned out to be the first of several connections.

“In 2020, during Covid, I interviewed at FoodDocs with Margus, who was their CTO at the time. I didn’t end up working there, but in 2022 I saw eID Easy’s Lead Developer opening, met Margus again, and joined.

Then I discovered Joao was also at eID Easy. And I’d previously worked with Raul, who was now in eID Easy too. There was no doubt in my mind about the people I’d be working with.

After learning more about the company from our CTO, I could immediately see its potential. I’d lived in both worlds: one where eIDs and eSignatures weren’t part of everyday life, and another where so much was already digital.”

What were the early days like?

When Tobi joined, the development team was small, a bigger client was about to come on board, and his first integration was waiting.

“There were just three developers, and our project manager also worked as a Java developer. My first task was integrating a new signing method, ZealID.

Fortunately, the integration wasn’t as difficult as I’d expected. The real challenge was understanding electronic signatures in depth: how they’re created, validated, and tested. I’d used an ID card to sign before, but working with what makes a signature valid was a different experience.”

The company has grown since then, but something Tobi values is how closely people still work together.

“What someone joining would notice is how much impact each person has, and how the whole company works together and supports each other.”

What are you particularly proud of?

Not all of Tobi’s favourite contributions are features customers see. Some are changes that make the team’s everyday work easier.

“Helping develop the company’s engineering processes makes me proud. Some things weren’t very structured at first, and I’m happy to have started initiatives that improved our efficiency, made developers’ lives easier, and helped the product mature.

On the technical side, the highlight has been implementing our eSealing failover mechanism.”

What keeps the work interesting?

There’s still plenty to learn, particularly with EUDI Wallets becoming part of the work.

“Every day, I learn something about eIDs, eSignatures, and the regulations around them. The learning never ends.

‍
As a developer, building the technology behind our services is what excites me. At the beginning, it could feel overwhelming. These days, I see those challenges as opportunities to get better.”

What brought you to Estonia?

Before eID Easy, there was a move from Nigeria to Tartu. Staying in Estonia wasn’t the original plan.

“I came for my master’s degree at the University of Tartu. The plan was to finish my studies, get a few years of experience, and return to Nigeria to put what I’d learned into practice. I wanted to start an IT training institute for children and my own consulting firm.

Plans changed, but that longer-term goal hasn’t disappeared. I’m still working towards it in other forms.”

Settling in brought a few surprises, some more welcome than others.

“The biggest surprises were the weather and how far ahead Estonia was digitally. I underestimated the weather, and it affected both my studies and work before I adjusted.

But I really enjoyed how straightforward everyday things were when you could do so much electronically.”

Outside of work?

Coding doesn’t necessarily stop when the working day ends. Tobi enjoys trying out ideas, building open-source packages, and sharing what he creates.

“When an idea comes to me, I like building it, putting together a proof of concept, and sometimes publishing it so other people can use it.

My hobbies are writing and coding. Weekends are usually for staying home, resting, trying out development ideas, or taking the kids out to play. On Sundays, I worship with my local church.”

And there’s one interest his colleagues might not know about:

“I’m also part of a local football club. Not professional, but just as good!”

What does “making trust simple” mean to you?

For Tobi, it comes back to the contrast he experienced himself: digital identity is most useful when it’s accessible to everyone, not just people who understand the technology.

“It means making everyday actions that depend on trust accessible to people, whether they’re businesses or individuals.

eIDs and eSignatures are becoming more important to many countries’ economies, but they’re only useful to everyone if you don’t have to be tech-savvy to use them.

Businesses shouldn’t have to build individual connections to every trust service provider either. That would be expensive. We take on that work and make local trust services from around the world available to businesses and their customers through one API.”

We’re glad Tobi’s path brought him to eID Easy, and grateful for everything he’s helped build, both in the product and in the way we work together.
