Discover eID Easy’s latest updates for August 2025, including online verification for Google Wallet and U.S. mobile driver's licences, Borica B-Trust QES support, and ongoing improvements to the platform and EU Digital Identity Wallet integration.

We are pleased to share the latest developments of the eID Easy API Platform below.

Latest Focus

With the breakneck speed of AI growth, eID Easy is continually developing tools and support for the AI ecosystem and will release an MCP server for utilizing eID Services in the near future.

As a world leader in digital signature coverage, eID Easy is always improving and expanding its services. We are seeing increased demand for eIDs and are working to meet this growing need.

EU countries are moving quickly to release their digital identity wallets, and many have now made development apps and environments available. We will be adding support for these in our development environment to be among the first to launch to production when the production apps become available.

In parallel, we are continuously working to improve the eID Easy platform, adding enhancements and updates to improve the user experience (UX) and deliver more value to our customers.

Definitions used in this newsletter

Batch Signature – Allows multiple documents to be signed in a single session with one confirmation.

eSeals – Automatic signatures (seals) applied on behalf of a company without user interaction.

JavaScript UI Components – User interface tools provided by eID Easy for integrating digital signing and authentication in web applications.

MCP Server (Metadata Configuration Protocol Server) – A service component that simplifies eID integration, particularly in automated and scalable systems.

mDL (Mobile Driver’s Licence) – A digital version of a driver's licence stored on a mobile device and usable for online identification.

OIDC (OpenID Connect) – An identity layer on top of the OAuth 2.0 protocol that allows clients to verify a user’s identity based on authentication performed by an authorization server.

QES (Qualified Electronic Signature) – The highest standard of electronic signature, legally equivalent to a handwritten signature under EU law.

SPID (Sistema Pubblico di Identità Digitale) – Italy’s public digital identity system, enabling access to online services via certified eIDs.

Trust List – A registry of officially recognized certification authorities issuing valid and legally accepted digital signatures.

USB Token / Smart Card – Physical devices used to securely store digital certificates for authentication and signing.

XAdES (XML Advanced Electronic Signatures) – A signature format for XML data, supporting advanced features such as timestamping and batch signing.
