What Are Local Certificates?
Local certificates can reside on:
- National ID cards
- USB tokens
- Smart cards
- PFX files imported into the Windows certificate store or MacOS keychain.
These certificates allow users to create digital signatures directly from their local devices.
Middleware Software Requirement
To create digital signatures using local certificates, special middleware software is needed.
This software acts as a bridge between the website and your local certificates.
Setting Up Your Computer
Follow these steps to configure your system:
- Install the driver/software provided with your USB token or smart card.
- Download and install the Trust1Connector middleware from: → https://ds.t1t.io/v3_5/downloads/installer
- Restart your computer to ensure all services are properly loaded.
Signing Process
When you initiate the signing process on a website:
- You will be prompted to grant access to your local certificates.
- Once access is granted, you can proceed with creating your digital signature.
