About

iDIN is a digital identity service developed by the Dutch Payments Association in collaboration with major Dutch banks. It enables individuals to authenticate themselves online using their existing online banking credentials, facilitating secure interactions with various organizations.

iDIN is widely used in the Netherlands for purposes such as identity verification, age confirmation, and electronic signatures, leveraging the trusted infrastructure of the banking system.

Compliance

iDIN complies with the European Union's eIDAS Regulation (EU) No 910/2014, which standardizes electronic identification and trust services across EU member states.

While iDIN itself is not a Qualified Trust Service Provider (QTSP), it can be integrated with services that issue Advanced Electronic Signatures (AdES) or Qualified Electronic Signatures (QES), ensuring that electronic transactions meet the necessary legal and security requirements within the EU.
