Smart-ID is a widely adopted electronic identity and digital signature solution developed by SK ID Solutions, an Estonian trust service provider.

Designed for mobile-first use, Smart-ID enables users to authenticate securely and sign documents electronically without the need for SIM cards or special hardware.

It is available in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, and Belgium, and is commonly used for accessing e-government services, banking, healthcare systems, and private sector platforms.

Compliance

Smart-ID complies with the eIDAS Regulation (EU) No 910/2014 and supports both Advanced Electronic Signatures (AdES) and, in its highest assurance level (Smart-ID Qualified), Qualified Electronic Signatures (QES).

The Qualified Smart-ID solution is issued by SK ID Solutions, a certified Qualified Trust Service Provider (QTSP) listed in the EU Trusted List. Smart-ID’s compliance ensures that electronic signatures generated with the qualified version are legally equivalent to handwritten signatures throughout the European Union.
